Lucky...

I found this interesting piece on luck on a blog i stumbled upon. It really appealed to me and feels like it makes so much sense. I haven't felt so lucky lately but then i haven't been that attentive either. I have been so focussed on what I not have, fixated on what I think I need and want, not open to the unexpected....fearing the unexpected and through that closing myself of from all the beauties life has to offer....i am just not seeing it at the moment...I want to...I really do...but I guess just wanting is not enough. Everything requires action, determination, patience,faith and love.......wanting without action is just mental, physical,and spiritual exhaustion...drainage. Here is to being attentive and to finding....finding that which lifts, energizes and refreshes...even if I don't know at this moment what will do that for me...the things you want are not always the things you need. Here is to welcoming the unexpected. Here is to LUCK!

By being more attentive, you are also luckier. How come some people always seem to be lucky, and all the coincidences go their way? Is it just chance, or is there another reason? An English psychologist, Richard Wiseman, discovered that lucky people were lucky because of personal characteristics rather than some mysterious fate. He found that it was their character. Through interviews and tests, Wiseman found among other things that lucky people are more relaxed, and that they tend to see not only what they are looking for, but also what then are not looking for. They are open to the unexpected, while others less lucky...are more closed--they look only for what they have in mind, and often do not find it. -Pierro Ferrucci
